Would you give the shirt off your back to a prisoner?

Well, you don’t have to; you can give them mine.

Yes, I have decided to do something for others in need. I read that this year alone, more than 700,000 prisoners in America will be released. Many of them are Christian prisoners and they come home with just the ugly prison shirt on their back and $50 cash in their pocket. Little wonder that two-thirds of them will go back to prison one day.

I want to help break that cycle and could use some help. I am offering to donate a free dress shirt and tie to selected prisoners identified by Chuck Colson’s Prison Fellowship. Picture the prisoner wearing that shirt and tie to church; or to a job interview. We can improve their chances for making it in society instead of going back to prison.

… 35‘For I was in prison, and you came to Me.’… 37“Then the righteous will answer Him, ‘Lord, when did we see You … in prison, and come to You?’ 40“The King will answer and say to them, ‘Truly I say to you, to the extent that you did it to one of these brothers of Mine, even the least of them, you did it to Me.’

Here’s how you can help...

It costs us about $8 to process an order request and ship the shirt and tie to the prisoner’s home. If I provide the shirt and tie free, would you cover the shipping cost? That’s right; each $8 you can afford will put a shirt on the back and a smile on the face of a former prisoner; someone who is desperately trying to turn his life around.

These men have been carefully identified and selected through prison volunteers and prison chaplains.

Let’s give a hand to men who are sincerely trying to change their life and put their prison time behind them for good. I’d love to have you partner with me.
